About the event
We'll meet in Howth Village and take off up the hill. I'll make sure you are ready for the walk by arming you with a list of plants we are likely to view. I will also share a refreshing wild herb tea with you before we take off on our adventure.
We'll stop along the route and discuss the wild plants that are in season and I will give you insights into their links to our heritage, their medicinal and nutritional value as well as any herbal remedies that are linked to the plants.
We'll stop for a wild food picnic along the way and I'll share some more herbal infusions.
I'll give you a chance to put into practice what you have learned along the route and we'll chat about any interesting findings.
We'll return back to our starting point.
The whole walk will not cover more than 2.5-3km and should be doable for anyone who is able-bodied with average fitness. It will involve some climbing and descent but there is marked path along the way.
After the walk you will be provided with an information guide with photos and written information on the plants viewed. You will also be given recipes to use the wild plants you have seen and tasted.
